FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, MAY 9, 2017— Calvary Christian School (CCS) is pleased to announce senior Aaron “Cheetah” Cole, has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at Faulkner University located in Montgomery, Alabama. The signing took place in the lobby of the CCS Student Center on Tuesday, May 9, 2017, at 12:50 p.m. with family, friends, CCS coaches, soccer teammates, and school staff present.
There is absolutely no way the Knights program will be on such a rise that we are now with five straight state playoff appearances without the commitment of Aaron Cole. He joined our team five years ago simply to help us have enough players to field a team. Today, he leaves us as one of our most decorated defensive legends. He works extremely hard to improve every day and often helps us beat more highly ranked opponents out of his pure tenacity. Aaron continues to improve every minute he plays, and I am eager to continue to watch his development at the collegiate level with advanced coaching. – CCS Head Soccer Coach Michael Gross
Aaron Cole Statistics:
Aaron, a three-year starter, and team captain, helped lead the Calvary Knights to a second place finish in the GICAA South Division in 2017. Furthermore, he guided them to an appearance in the 2017 State Quarterfinals. This is the highest region finish the program has reached since the boys’ soccer program was reestablished five years ago. Playing varsity soccer since the 8th grade, Aaron was a defensive stalwart and leader for a squad that has qualified for the state playoffs five straight years as well as a Final Four appearance in 2014. Due to his stifling style of defensive play, Aaron was always matched up against the opposition’s most talented scorers. Outside of the soccer fields, Aaron was also a leader in the classroom, boasting a 3.93 GPA. He is a member of the Beta Club, National Honors Society, and participated in Fellowship of Christian Athletes events.
