Calvary Christian School is excited to welcome a new Head of the Boys’ Soccer Program, Coach Matt Orr.
Coach Orr has expressed how excited he is to be a part of the Calvary family and that he looks forward to building on the soccer team’s success and developing it into an elite program. Coach Orr has a very impressive resume, which includes being involved in the sport of soccer for over twenty-five years. As a player, the teams he has been members of have won two state championships and one regional championship, which led the team to earn a featured spot in the US Soccer Magazine. He has been blessed to play for the Georgia Olympic Development team and to also be named to the All Bi-City team as the Offensive Player of the Year while in high school. Coach Orr has also coached the Black Knights for the past six years, who have been very successful, and this past spring finished as finalists in the state championship. He has also served as a coach in the Columbus Ranger program, a successful elite soccer program and has served as a board member of the Columbus Youth Soccer Club. Coach Orr strongly believes the game is the greatest teacher, which is why he continues to play today.
Coach Orr and his wife, Kymber, are members of Calvary Baptist Church and their son is in the fourth grade at Calvary Christian School.
“I praise and thank God for trusting me to lead these student-athletes and to teach them not only the game of soccer but also help prepare them for the future.” – CCS Boys’ Head Soccer Coach Matt Orr
