COLUMBUS, GEORGIA, JUNE 21, 2017— Calvary Christian School (CCS) is pleased to announce the hiring of a new Upper School Principal. The CCS headmaster announced in April to CCS students and families, that Craig Johnson will succeed CCS High School Principal, Randolph Prudent, as Upper School Principal. Johnson started this position on June 15, 2017.

Mr. Johnson is uniquely qualified to lead the Upper School of Calvary Christian. Craig Johnson assumes the role of leading the Upper School program, having gained extensive education and leadership experience at the prestigious Westminster Schools of Augusta. For 30 years, Johnson has equipped students for success in college and beyond. Johnson’s academic leadership includes Academic Dean, Upper School Principal, High School Principal, Fine Arts Department Chair and History Department Chair. His accomplishments include National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow (1995), Five-time Star Teacher of the year recipient, and Three-time GISA Debate Championship Head Coach. Johnson holds a Master of Education (MEd) in Supervision and Administration from Augusta State University (1993) and a Bachelor of Arts in History from Wheaton College (1983). Mr. Johnson and his wife, Lulu, have three grown sons, all of whom have gone through Christian school with the youngest recently graduated from Liberty University.
Calvary Christian School is a K3-12th grade school and offers the following: biblical instruction; challenging, non-common core academics; AP and Honor classes; dual enrollment; fine arts; a full athletic program; extra-curricular activities; weekly chapel; and before and after school care. CCS has a full-time onsite school nurse. Our family environment includes faculty with a love for Christ and teaching.
