We thought it would be fun to spotlight two CCS Alum who currently work at Calvary and graduated together.
They are both still friends and are working on their Master’s degrees!
Jacob Ammons
Year Graduated from CCS: 2013
Family: Jerry and Kendall Ammons, (Dad and Mom), and Tyler Ammons,

(Brother)
What did you do after CCS graduation?
I went to Columbus State University for the first two years of college, and then transferred to Point University and played on the baseball team there.
What are you doing now?
Currently, I am working and coaching at Calvary, while I am working on earning my MBA from Shorter University.
How did CCS prepare you for what you are doing and/or where you are?
CCS gave me a strong spiritual foundation which made the jump into the “real world” easier. It also gave me friendships with students and teachers which I still have today.
What advice would you give a CCS student?
Give your best in all you do, and don’t settle for mediocrity. Focus in on how you can better yourself and the people around you every single day. You have the chance to influence someone every time you come in contact with someone, so make the best of it, and make sure that influence is a positive one.
What are your future plans?
My future plans are to finish my Master’s in December and then look for a job opportunity within a college athletic department, most likely marketing, with the ultimate goal of becoming a college athletic director.
In three of four sentences, what would you tell someone about yourself?
My name is Jacob Ammons and I am twenty-two years old. I am an Atlanta Braves, Fortnite, and Georgia Bulldogs football enthusiast. My Saturdays consist of spending time with the boys. My hobbies include kayaking, fishing, slow-pitch softball, and spending time with friends. As a young man, I hope to strive for God’s will and not my own and be the man I am called to be.

Jasmine Carter “Jazzy”
Year graduated from CCS: May 19th, 2013
Family: Parents, Abigail and James Carter; Sister, Lakesha Ross.

What did you do after CCS graduation?
After I graduated from Calvary I continued my education through Columbus State University, where I majored in English with a concentration in professional writing and minored in business. Alongside school at CSU, I also worked as Studio Manager at Novo Fitness Studio where I currently teach fitness classes.
What are you doing now?
I am working on achieving my Masters in Management at Shorter University.
How did CCS prepare you for what you are doing/or where you are?
Calvary helped me in various ways. My teachers at Calvary taught me not only the academic lessons but also the importance of education in general. That kept me inspired to receive my undergrad and now pursue a Master’s degree. Calvary also taught me how to manage my time. CCS offers so many sports and organizations and other out of class activities that I was involved in. I continued being involved in more than just school when I went to college. This has challenged me to do more than sit in a classroom and has helped me meet a lot of people and do/learn a lot of things along the way.
What advice would you give a CCS student?
Cherish every teacher, coach, friend, day and moment that you have at Calvary. I know some days school can be tough, but you are truly in a place where people love you and will cheer you on no matter what. There are not many places in this world like Calvary.
What are your future plans?
After graduating with my Masters in management, my dream is to do a professional internship as a manager at Walt Disney World in Orlando (I like to dream big). In the meantime, I just want to find ways to continue to learn and grow.
In three or four sentences, what would you tell someone about yourself?
My name is Jasmine Carter, but people call me Jazzy because it better fits my personality. I love to meet people, explore the world (through books and on actual outdoor adventures), and spend time with my family. I am 22 years old with a whole lot of ambition to see what the world has to offer, but more so, what God has in store for me.
